Field actions and the nearness of Samusocial Perú teams in Huaycán is strengthened by a research program that aims at analyzing the issues faced by the area’s vulnerable populations; adapting interventions to identified problems, and raising awareness among institutions in charge of fighting social exclusion.
Samusocial Perú has launched two research programs, one with Samusocial International and the other with the Peruvian School of Civil Protection:
-
The first research, carried out by the Observatory of Samusocial International consists in perfecting knowledge of the population and analyzing the beneficiaries’ access to services supplied by Samusocial Perú, through the database that, since the start of activities in 2005, has been kept updated with health and social indicators collected after each intervention by Mobile Teams and professionals of the Prevention Center of Samusocial Perú.
-
The second research project, implemented by the Peruvian School of Civil Protection, focuses on the analysis of perception of the risk associated to social and environmental hazards by the inhabitants of the area "Z”. The research will permit, in the mid-term, to improve the design of community-aimed information, education and communication tools for the prevention and management of risks.
